Over the years, Sanchayan has been interested in site-specific art and has done extensive work in
space designing for experimental and contemporary theatre. With his inspirations from
community ritual events and pedagogic practice in Santiniketan and his workshop experience with Third theatre exponent Badal Sarkar he involves pedagogy as practice where he generates collective process of working and learning through workshops process that is interactive and participatory. He reengages with the notion of study from a multifaceted reciprocal conversation to emerge interdisciplinary crossover of multiple practices and generate critical dialogue around land, environment and labour. In this respect he has extensively worked with practitioners from different disciplines both institutional and local and developed collaborative process of engaging with specific situation of public and community life. His regular interventions with academic models in institutional spaces has created possibilities of interdisciplinary engagement and created new methodologies of community engagement in pedagogical practice. He has been pursuing practice as a performative pedagogy dispersing the notion of individuality as a collective situation of learning, experiencing and exploring together.
Most of his engagements in this respect leads to site-specific interdisciplinary activities and multi layered installations and performances in different kind of public spaces and institutions. Through his continuous exploration in site-specific art practice, Ghosh has over the years been exploring spaces between both private and public institutions and succeeded in taking art activity as an interface of institutional spaces and public situations.
He has worked extensively through workshop process (deriving methods from visual art and theater games) with students of different institutions all over India and has been part of the six member curators panel of the student's biennale 2018 in Kochi under Kochi Muziris Biennale. He has also participated in Documenta14 and conducted workshop in the Documenta 14 aneducation Gathering Under The Mango Tree-Sites of Learning. 2017.
